My day

Wake, hit snooze, get up, get dressed, go downstairs.

Give the kids their clothes for the day, make breakfast, pour coffee
(be thankful, once again, for coffee makers with timers), make lunches.

Drive The Shniz to school.

Upon returning home at about 9am, pour more coffee, tidy up house.

Friend (Valerie) drops off empty bins from clothes I gave her daughter, Amarah. Chat a bit with Valerie.

More tidying.

More coffee.

Drive to Kohl's to buy Sasha's dress, tights and wrap for Saturday's Daddy/Daughter dance. Find pink, sparkly, frilly thing that SCREAMS "Sasha". Score!

Drive to Rogan's to buy Sasha's shoes for Saturday's dance. No luck.

Drive to Payless to buy Sasha's shoes for Saturday's dance. Find pink, sparkly shoes that SCREAM "Sasha". Score!

Upon returning home at about 11am, eat, call Kim, scrub sink with Comet.

Wait for realtor to arrive at 1pm.

At 12pm, realtor calls. Wants to meet earlier.

Meet with realtor and sign contracts. Agree to list house at $219,900 (CRY!!!! Ok, I didn't really cry, but I wanted to!). Listen to dogs cry and bark in cages in basement.

Realtor leaves.

Do dishes.

Go to get The Shniz from school.

Hear from teacher that a student broke his arm on the play yard today and needs surgery at Children's Memorial Hospital. Yikes.

Feel sympathy for child and his family, but also thankful that it wasn't one of mine.

Come home. Approve/disapprove of snack choices made by children. Potato chips: not a good snack. Raisins: good snack.

Let out dogs. Become painfully aware that Muddy Season is upon us.

Wipe 8 really muddy paws.

Go upstairs to take out contacts and find Payton (my chocolate lab) chewing on a tube of toothpaste in my bedroom. Clean up mess.

Bring empty bins from Valerie into basement.

Basement smells awful. Holy cow. What IS that smell??

Turn on light and find dog pee in Lexi's cage. A lot of dog pee. What the...?? Fantastic.

Clean up pee.

Start laundry with pee-soaked towels and Lexi's coat that she wears all day. I'm sure it's got pee on it somewhere.

Beg and plead kids to get their shoes on and go potty so we can go to Target to get:
Febreeze, gum and wine.

Come home and break up fight between Connor & Sasha.

Send Connor to his room, kicking and screaming.

Sigh.

Put load into dryer.

Febreeze the heck out of the dog cages.

Hope the basement will smell like the Febreeze commercials now. Think about blindfolding someone and asking them what it smells like in this joint. Dog pee? Lavender? Laugh at how funny I am.

Play game with Sasha. Good times.

Cook dinner.

Crank music.

Pour Glass of Wine #1.

Break up another fight between Connor & Sasha. Send them upstairs.

While dinner is still cooking, hear screams and cries from upstairs.

Go upstairs to find Sasha has broken the switch plate for a light switch in Connor's room by throwing a Cabbage Patch Kid at it. Awesome.

Listen to more screaming and crying, this time by Sasha.

Pour Glass of Wine #2.

Eat dinner. Clean up (kinda). Most of it can and will wait 'til morning.

Get yelled at by Connor for clearing his plate when he was obviously finished eating.

Feed dogs. Let them out. Wipe 8 muddy paws. Again.

Start blog post. I need to vent. Or something.

Send children upstairs for pj's and teeth brushing.

Remind Connor (yet again) that if he kept his things where they belong he wouldn't be searching for Bear right before bedtime. Again.

Remind The Shniz to brush their teeth. Again.

Finish Glass of Wine #2.

Tuck kids into bed. Early.

Console Connor cause Bear is lost and he has to sleep with another friend tonight.

Change into my comfies (pj's).

Pour Glass of Wine #3.

Remind myself that tomorrow is another day and it could always be worse.

Cheers!

I love you :) Thanks for the laughs and the strong urge to pop open a bottle of wine.
